The client required a specialist canopy cover for a specific building renovation project. The canopy needed to cover a courtyard of a building during a critical phase of a construction project. The customer had very specific guidelines for the type of temporary structure; Firstly, it had to comply with the strict local building standards for the area, secondly, the installation of the canopy needed to be fast to keep the project on target and finally the building needed to be fully demountable with speed of de-rigging of the upmost importance. A key deciding factor for awarding HTS as the lead contract supplier was the company’s proven track record in the delivery of customised temporary structures to the specialist construction industry.

HTS supplied a building sized at 40.00m in width x 25.00m in length with a special eave height 1.98m eave height which allowed an internal clear working height of 9.48m which was essential for the construction workers and equipment working below.

The building was supplied with translucent PVC membrane single layer PVC roof system which allowed for natural light to transmit through, essential for the nature of the project. The temporary structure was installed on the roof of the 5th storey of the permanent building – the temporary structure required a higher than normal wind load therefore special internal rigging points were fitted to the main framework which enabled the temporary canopy building to be internally braced against possible uplift in the event of high winds.

The client was extremely satisfied with the specialist canopy structure supplied which exceeded their expectations in both product and installation enabling the client to deliver their renovation project on time and on budget.
